Suspect in several Spokane drive-by shootings arrested

SPOKANE, Wash. – A 20-year-old man is accused of firing more than 40 rounds at homes, cars and in different Spokane neighborhoods over the past few days. 

Spokane Police officers arrested Gregory Lynch and charged him for several drive-by shootings that happened Monday and Tuesday night.

The shootings happened near E. Liberty Ave and N. Helena St. In one case, a woman was shot multiple times. 

Multiple SPD resources, including the newly formed Violent Crimes Task Forces, SWAT, Hostage Negotiation Team, K9 Team and Domestic Violence Unit all assisted with Lynch’s arrest. 

He was located Wednesday night at an apartment in West Central. Authorities surrounded the apartment and worked for more than three hours to get Lynch to surrender. 

He was booked into jail on charges of drive-by shooting. First-degree assault and unlawful possession of a firearm. Lynch has three prior felony convictions for assault.
