Stormy evening, then cool and showery Friday – Kris
SPOKANE, Wash.– Hopefully you were able to enjoy the warm weather on Thursday. Our temperatures are going right back down to those chilly spring 50s and 60s heading into the weekend.
The shift in our weather begins Thursday evening when showers and thunderstorms move across the Inland Northwest with the passage of a cold front. Storms coming out of Oregon and over the L-C Valley, Camas Prairie, Blue Mountains, and the Palouse could be strong or even severe with hail and high winds to go along with the thunder and lightning. Keep an eye out for weather alerts tonight and don’t be surprised if there’s quite a lightning show this evening.
Further north around Spokane and Coeur d’Alene we will see rain and the occasional rumble of thunder tonight. Skies won’t clear until after midnight.
The weather on Friday will start out nice enough with a mix of clouds and sun and temperatures in the 40s. Highs will only be in the 60s while afternoon showers pop up around the region.
Memorial Day weekend looks cool with some unsettled conditions. Temperatures will struggle to get into the 60s on Saturday with more spotty afternoon rain. Sunday looks fairly wet as another system moves over us with highs only in the mid-50s. Conditions improve for Memorial Day, but there will still be a chance for some afternoon rain. At least there are the prospect of more 70s in the forecast next week.
