Zag fans in Pheonix remain optimistic

PHOENIX, Ariz - In the wake of a 71-65 national championship loss, disappointed Zag fans flooded the outer concourse.  Many, for good reason, walked in silence with their head, but most still walked with pride.

"I love the Zags, I'll always love the Zags," declared Thomas Knowlton.

"This is a building block for the future, we'll be back," promised Aaron Hallerman.

That optimism seemed to be the theme for most Bulldog supporters, despite coming so close to the national title.

"We're a small school with an undergrad of 5,000 kids and we just matched the North Carolina fans," one recent grad exclaimed.  "That's incredible."
