SPOKANE, Wash. — The Gonzaga Bulldogs are slowly making their way back to the top in the AP Poll.
According to the poll, the Zags are the No. 8 team in the country. Following hard-fought wins against WCC opponents USF and Santa Clara, the Zags are one of the many teams that had their ranking changed in this week’s poll.
Here is the updated AP Poll:
- Kansas State
- Iowa State
- Miami [FL]
- San Diego State
Arizona, led by former Gonzaga assistant coach Tommy Lloyd, fell four spots in the poll after losing to Washington State Saturday afternoon. WSU’s win against the Wildcats was its first win against a top-five team on the road in program history and the team’s first win against a top-five team in 40 years.
Zags’ WCC opponent Saint Mary’s got 24 votes in the AP poll.
The Zags will take on rival BYU Thursday night in Provo, Utah. Tipoff is at 6:30 p.m. They will return to Spokane Saturday to play Portland.
