SPOKANE, Wash. — Gonzaga head coach Mark Few announced the addition of South Korean Jun Seok Yeo to the men’s basketball roster.

Yeo, a 20-year-old forward, stands at a staggering 6’8″ and weighs 220 pounds.

Yeo is a transfer from Korea University in Seoul, and attended the NBA Global Academy in Australia before graduating from Yongsan High School in Seoul.

In the 2021 FIBA U-19 World Cup in Latvia, Yeo averaged 25.6 points per game and 10.6 rebounds. He put up 21 points against former Zag Chet Holmgren and Team USA, and scored 31 and 26 against Puerto Rico and Japan.

Yeo also averaged 12.3 points and four rebounds as he helped Korea’s senior national team qualify for the FIBA Asia Cup in 2021, and averaged 16

“This is a really big opportunity for me,” Yeo said. “I’m really happy to be a part of this program and family at Gonzaga.”

Yeo will practice with the team for the remainder of the 2022-23 season, and will not play a game until 2023-24 as a sophomore.
