Coeur d'Alene drops Little League World Series opener on walk-off hit

WILLIAMSPORT, PA. - It's been a long week for the All-Star team from Coeur d'Alene who have been in Williamsport, Pennsylvania since Sunday waiting for their first game in the Little League World Series. They finally got it this afternoon against a powerhouse team from Michigan.

SCORELESS IN THE 2ND, BUT C-D-A STRIKES FIRST...CAYDEN SYMONS  WITH THE DOUBLE DOWN THE LEFT FIELD LINE..TWO RUNS WILL COME IN TO SCORE..IDAHO PUMPED..THEY HAVE A 2-0 LEAD.

STILL NOT DONE IN THE 2ND..AVREY CHERRY WITH THE LASER TO FIRST..IT'S KNOCKED DOWN, BUT THE BALL GETS AWAY..THAT ALLOWS SIMMONS TO SCORE FROM 2ND..IT'S 3-0

CHRIS REYNOLDS WAS JUST FLAT OUT AWESOME ON THE MOUND TODAY...HE STRANDS THE BASES LOADED..HE GIVES UP JUST ONE UNEARNED RUN THROUGH ALMOST 5 INNINGS AND STRIKES OUT 11.

BUT REYNOLDS WAS FORCED OUT DUE TO PITCH COUNT...AND MICHIGAN COMES ALIVE IN THEIR LAST AT-BAT...ELLIOT NEDERHOOD WITH THE BASE HIT TO RIGHT FIELD..IT GETS BY THE OUTFIELDER..TWO RUNS COME INTO SCORE AND IT'S A TIE GAME.

IDAHO GETS AN OUT..LOOKING FOR THE DOUBLE PLAY...RYAN KNAEBLE WITH THE HOT SHOT THAT GETS INTO LEFT FIELD..THEY WILL TRY TO SCORE ON THE PLAY..THROW TO THE PLATE IS WIDE...MICHIGAN SCORES 4 RUNS IN THE BOTTOM OF THE 6TH INNING TO CRUSH IDAHO AND WIN IT ON A WALK-OFF 5-4.
