Spokane’s Homeless: Where are they from?
SPOKANE, Wash. — When you see a homeless person sleeping on the sidewalk or under a bridge, do you ever wonder how their lives ended up this way? Or where they originally came from?
Data from the city’s Point-in-Time (PIT) count revealed that 20 percent of unsheltered transients reported coming from other states. 14 percent came from other parts of Washington, and 66 percent became homeless while living in Spokane county.
