Spokane Walmart grand reopening
SPOKANE, Wash. — Spokane residents will get their first look at the newly remodeled Walmart Supercenter on Colton St. on Oct. 26.
A grand reopening ribbon-cutting is scheduled for 8 a.m.
As a feature of the remodel, customers will have access to a new Walmart Pickup Tower launching on Nov. 1. The tower functions like a high-tech vending machine, and can fulfill a customer’s online order in less than a minute.
To use the tower, customers can choose from the millions of items on Walmart.com and select the pickup option at checkout. When the item arrives at the local store, an associate loads it into the Pickup Tower and the customer retrieves by scanning a bar code sent to their smartphone.
“The first thing you see in our store are the fresh areas – the produce and meat departments – with new signage,” said Store Manager Robert Johns.
