Spokane Valley Police looking for suspicious male who contacted young girl

The Spokane Valley Police Department would like to pass on an incident that occurred this week where a young female student observed a man while she walked to and from school on the same day.

The man’s suspicious behavior was concerning to the student and his intentions are not known.

As the student walked to school in the area of Evergreen and 26th, a man drove up in an older, small white 4-door vehicle. He asked if she had missed the bus since she appeared to be running and if she needed a ride. The student declined the ride and continued on her way to school.

Later in the afternoon and she was walking home, she noticed the same man walking behind her near Evergreen and 24th. He did not say anything or attempt to contact her but after the morning’s incident, she got a “creepy feeling” seeing him again. A couple blocks later, a neighbor pulled up and gave her a ride home.

The man was described as being in his 50’s or 60’s, approximately 5-foot-11 inches tall, with medium build and balding with gray hair on both sides. He was wearing shorts with a windbreaker style jacket which were orange and black in color.

Although his reported actions are not criminal, his intentions are not known and alarming to the young student. Deputies and detectives would like to identity him and talk to him about this incident.

Anyone with information regarding this incident, has observed similar activity or can help identify this male is asked to call Crime Check at 509-456-2233, reference #10049317.
