Spokane Valley Police Arrest Stabbing Suspect
SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. — On Wednesday night, Spokane Valley police arrested a stabbing suspect from an incident on March 18th. Police identified 33-year-old Joseph GB Layman and arrested him on a charge of Assault in the 1st Degree.
The investigation revealed that on March 18th, Layman arrived at the victim’s apartment on E. 3rd Avenue in Spokane Valley between 5:30 and 6:30 p.m. The altercation began as an argument over heroin, but escalated as Layman stabbed the victim with a knife several times.
A friend of the victim transported him to Spokane Valley Hospital Emergency Room for medical treatment. The victim remained in the hospital for two days due to the severity of the his injuries.
Spokane Valley Major Crimes Detective Kirk Keyser transported Laymen to the Spokane County Jail. He is being held on a $250,000 bond.
