Spokane Valley Fire Dept. kicks off Fire Prevention Month with open house

SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. — The Spokane Valley Fire Department is hosting a fire and life safety open house this Saturday.

The annual family-friendly event is one way the fire department gives the community a glimpse of the work they do every day.

The open house event is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and free to the public.

It includes live fire demos, a medic helicopter, food, drinks, giveaways and much more.

Here’s a schedule of events:

10 a.m. – Avista Power of Electricity
10:30 a.m. – Burn trailer demo
11 a.m. – Car extrication
11:30 a.m.- Residential fire attack
12:15 p.m. – Pit crew CPR
12:45 p.m. – High Angle ropes technical rescue
1:30 p.m. – Avista Power of Electricity
2 p.m. – Rescue 3 helicopter takes off/Gates close

The open house will be happening at the Spokane Valley Fire Department’s Training and Fleet Maintenance Center at 2411 N Pioneer Rd.
