Spokane ranks in top 25 cities with highest divorce rates
SPOKANE, Wash. — Spokane just got featured in a new list…but not one you might expect.
In the Top 25 cities with the Highest Divorce Rates, Spokane came in number one.
Consumer Advocates compiled information from the U.S. Census Bureau’s American Community Survey (ACS) 2016 release of 5-year estimates.
Using this data, they calculated the divorced, married and single percentages for the largest 200 cities in the country.
Other cities featured in the list included Albuquerque, New Mexico, Las Vegas, Nevada, and Toledo, Ohio.
Out of the top 25, Spokane’s divorced population was number one at 15.92%.
Although this may seem grim, national divorce rates are on the decline.
However, Valentine’s Day is just around the corner. So make sure to let your significant other know that they are (in the word’s of that famous 90’s song) “Still the One”!
