Spokane Police: Woman was raped, beaten by man she met on a dating site
SPOKANE, Wash — A Nine Mile Falls man is charged with rape and a vicious attack on a woman he met on a dating website. He was ordered held on $250,000 bond.
Michael Robert Henry, 32, of Nine Mile Falls was charged in court Thursday with rape, kidnapping and assault. Police say he forced a woman who was trying to leave their date into his truck, punched her repeatedly in the face and then raped her both in his truck and in her home.
Police say the attack happened last week on February 13. They say the victim and the attacker met on the dating website “Plenty of Fish.”
Henry reportedly picked up the woman at her home and they went to Northern Quest Casino. During the date, Henry reportedly became verbally abusive and the woman attempted to leave the casino, call a cab, and go home. Instead, as she was standing outside, police say Henry grabbed her by her neck and hair and forced her into his truck.
In the truck, police say, Henry began to beat the victim, hitting her with a closed fist twice in her left eye. He then pulled the truck over somewhere on the side of Highway 2 and reportedly forced the victim to perform oral sex. She told police he then drove her home and forced himself into her apartment, raping her in the front room and again in her bedroom.
The following day the victim went to Sacred Heart hospital for a sexual assault examination and told police what happened. Henry was arrested at his home in the 12000 block of W. Greenfield in Nine Mile Falls.
