Spokane Police want your opinion on how to better serve our community
SPOKANE, Wash. — The Spokane Police Department is asking for your opinion about how its officers do their job.
The Department has released a Community Perception Survey it hopes you’ll fill out.
It’s one of four major aspects of SPD’s Mission Statement, which is to “provide high quality police services to all of our residents and visitors through integrity, compassion, and a commitment to excellence.”
SPD has offered public surveys before, and used citizens’ input to help form policies on things like body cameras and outreach programs.
Now, the Police Department wants to know about your interactions with its officers.
They say the survey will let them know how they’re doing in their goal of treating all community members with dignity, and respect.
Questions ask about topics like officers’ professionalism and how well you think the department communicates with the public.
Responses are anonymous, and the survey only takes about five minutes to fill out.
