Spokane police recover 13 stolen vehicles this weekend

From the early hours of Friday, February 15, to Saturday, February 16, Spokane police officers found 13 stolen cars around the city.

Three were found with the help of tips from the public. The other ten were recovered by officers on patrol.

Five of the ten vehicles had someone in them when they were found, leading to the arrest of six people who were all charged with felonies.

“We are glad this weekend, with the help of astute community members, we were able to reunite some vehicle owners with their property,” said SPD officer Nick Briggs.

Police encourage you to not leave your car unattended while it’s running, especially while you warm your car up in the cold and snow. And if you notice suspicious activity, call crime check at 509-456-2233. Officers say the information you provide could help get a vehicle back to the rightful owner.
