Spokane Police officer placed on leave for allegedly using excessive force

The Spokane Police Department announced Friday that one of its officers was placed on administrative leave for allegedly using excessive force during a police pursuit.

According to a release, the officer used an unnessecary amount of force during the pursuit of a suspect who allegedly assaulted a police officer and resisted arrest.

SPD said an internal exessive force complaint has been issued, and the officer will remain on administrative leave while the County investigates.
