Spokane Police arrest suspect in High Bridge Park drive-by shooting

Spokane Police arrested a man they believe is responsible for a drive-by shooting near High Bridge Park Friday afternoon.

Police confirmed 54-year-old Doyle Miracle was arrested and booked for one count of assault in the 1st degree and two drive-by shooting counts.

According to a release, police first responded to a call around 1 p.m. from a homeowner in the 200 block of west 7th. That homeowner said Miracle pulled into his driveway, yelled obscenities, then waved a gun around before driving away.

Police spoke with witnesses who said Miracle then drove to High Bridge Park where he allegedly yelled at them and pointed the gun before driving away. Just 5-20 minutes later, witnesses told police he returned in a different truck, yelled at them again and fired at least one round.

That ensued in a short car chase, according to police, who said Miracle followed the victims, shooting at their car. One person’s car was hit, breaking the window.

According to SPD, no injuries resulted from the shooting.

Police found Miracle after a witness gave them a description of his truck, as well as his license plate number.

Officers found the truck parked at a home just a mile from the park, near W. 7th Ave and Government Way.
