Spokane mayor, police chief and members of black community to hold news conference Monday
SPOKANE, Wash. – Mayor Nadine Woodward, Police Chief Craig Meidl and members of Spokane’s black community will hold a press conference Monday afternoon to address the situation that unfolded downtown Sunday night.
Thousands of people gathered to peacefully protest on Sunday afternoon, but the situation turned chaotic as a separate group of people took advantage of the situation and became violent. Police responded to the aggression with tear gas and rubber bullets.
