Spokane initiates a full city plow
SPOKANE, Wash. — Spokane drivers battled through ice rutted streets and heavy snow Wednesday morning before the city initiated a full city plow.
With the launch of the full city plow, crews will work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week until all the streets have been plowed. The city estimates that will take 3 days.
The city says crews will plow, deice and sand arterials and hills to help with the conditions througout today. Those conditions were so poor during the commute that police shut down southbound Maple at Fifth Avenue this morning.
The city wants to remind everyone to park on the odd side of the streets to allow room for the plows to clear the way. The city is also asking people to shovel their sidewalks.
