Spokane Humane Society preparing for Parade of Paws
SPOKANE, Wash. — There’s just under two weeks to go for the Parade of Paws, one of the biggest fundraisers for the Spokane Humane Society.
This year they are hoping it will be the best yet; as the event, which cares for and feeds at times 70 dogs, is what helps them during summer months.
Sign ups are already underway for the two mile or four mile pledge walks. The Humane Society is asking that you round up your friends or coworkers to form a team, and of course, don’t forget your animal friends.
Pia Hallenberg, development director at the Spokane Humane Society said, ” It is absolutely a dog-friendly event. We will have kiddie-pools with water if its hot that the dogs can get in to. You are welcome to bring your dog but you don’t have to. You can bring another pet too if you’d like. If you have a goat or bearded dragon, just remember this is a dog-centered event.”
Immediately following the pledge walk, there will be a vendor fair on the Humane Society grounds, filled with food, a bouncy castle, and lots of dog-themed booths,
There is no minimum that needs to be raised to participate.
If you have adopted a dog from the Humane Society, you are encouraged to bring your new pooch to the event, they will be recognized in a special way.
