Spokane Hoopfest 2018 open for volunteers
SPOKANE, Wash. — Spokane Hoopfest returns the last weekend in June. This Thursday is the first day you can sign up to help with the biggest three-on-three basketball tournament in the world.
It takes around 3,000 volunteers to make it happen.
Volunteer Coordinator Chad Smith says they need people to help set up and tear down after the event.
And there are more than 600 spots for court monitors, and you don’t need experience to do it.
“You don’t have to have any basketball experience,” said Smith. “The ones that do, we put you on our higher level games.”
Volunteers get some Nike gear, including a Hoopfest shirt, shorts, hat, and a brand new pair of Nike shoes.
This year, Hoopfest weekend spills into July. Team registration is open March 9. You can sign up to become a court monitor or other volunteer here.
