Spokane for Japan
Mark your calendars! A lot of businesses have put together fundraisers for relief efforts in Japan, but this one is an event starring local bands and artists for Spokane for Japan.
The multimedia event is being put together by Spokane’s Z Art and Platform Booking. It will feature two different events, the art exhibition and concert, followed up by an art auction and concert.
“This is an opportunity for the Spokane community to turn out in support of Japan and to let the people know that we are keeping them at the forefront of our hearts and minds,” Nathan McKenzie-O’Neill of Z Art explained.
Event #1: April 29th at Nyne Bar and Bistro (232 W. Sprague Ave) (21+)
A fundraising drive begins at Noon and goes for 12 hours. This event will feature all the artwork donated by various artists and will be on display prior to the auction event. Attendees are being asked to wear red in support. A minimum $10 donated will be accepted as an entry to Nyne. All proceeds will go to relief efforts.
Event #2: May 28th, 7:00 p.m. at The Lincoln Center, 1316 N. Lincoln St.
This is the auction and concert that features all the artwork that was previewed at Nyne Bar and Bistro. Those pieces will be up for auction (live and silent). Tickets are available online through Tickets West or at the door with proceeds going to relief efforts.
The proceeds from each event will benefit UNICEF and Partners International. Representatives from each organization will be on-site to thank donors and distribute information about relief efforts.
