Spokane firefighters remember beloved South Hill man
SPOKANE, Wash. — Andrew Vathis, a beloved Albertsons desk clerk and captain of the Ben & Jerry’s Conehead Hoopfest team was killed in an auto-pedestrian accident on January 25.
Before his death, Andrew received an honary member shirt from firefighters at Spokane County Fire District 8 station 81.
On Thursday morning, Andrew’s mother brought the shirt back to the station along with a photo of her son. SCFD8 tweeted about the melancholy gesture:

Andrew was a beloved member of the community and will be missed greatly.
His memorial service will be this Saturday in the Ferris High School gym at 11 a.m. All are welcome.
