Spokane DUI collision injures two, including child
SPOKANE, Wash. — Spokane Police say a man was driving drunk and on drugs when he caused a car crash that sent one woman and a six-year-old child to the hospital Sunday night.
SPD took Hayden T. Martin, 23, into custody for vehicular assault after authorities say he caused a collision with another vehicle carrying a woman and child near the intersection of Wellesley Avenue and North Morton Street in Spokane. The crash happened shortly before 7 p.m. Both the woman and child were hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.
Martin could face other charges, according to SPD. He had an unrelated warrant for his arrest.
SPD issued a release asking citizens to help keep streets safe by encouraging people under the influence to not get behind the wheel and to report drunk drivers to law enforcement.
