SPOKANE CO., Wash. — Spokane County’s Northside Family Aquatics Facility will not open this summer due to issues related to the pandemic.

According to the Spokane County website, COVID-19 delayed construction of renovations at the Northside location and those improvements will not be completed in time to accommodate activity at the facility this summer.

The Southside location has also recently undergone new renovations, including new slides and an expanded pool area. The decision to open the location this summer is currently under consideration. Facilities, like swimming pools, can reopen in phase 3.

Whether or not the Southside location opens, there will be no Red Cross Learn to Swim lessons or Swim Team at the facility in 2020 as a result of COVID-19-related mandates.
