SPOKANE, Wash — The Compost Fair will be making its return to Spokane on Saturday, April 30.

Put on by the Spokane County Master Composters/Recyclers, the semi-annual event will serve as a learning opportunity on how to compost using “clean green” materials from yard work, landscape trimmings and food scraps.

The fair will provide ways for people to learn about compostable materials through activity stations.

It will be at the Finch Arboretum from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event is free and people who live in Spokane County can get free compost bins after completing the activity stations. Families can receive only one bin per household.

Those looking to get a pin must complete all activities by 2 p.m., and bins will be available until 1:30 p.m.
