Spokane Community College cancels Monday classes for emergency power outage
SPOKANE, Wash. — UPDATE: Classes are canceled for Monday, January 14. The SCC campus will be closed for the remainder of the day.
According to a school spokeswoman, crews have isolated the power outage problem and are working to make extensive repairs. Due to the work that still needs to be completed, and the fact that the heat has been off since about 5 a.m. Monday, administrators decided to cancel classes.
Operations and classes will resume on Tuesday.
Spokane Community College is reporting an emergency power outage on its main campus. All classes and operations are delayed until 9:30 Monday morning.
SCC Campus Security tells KXLY4 there are no security concerns stemming from the outage. Staff are currently working to figure out what’s causing it and get the power back on.
