The 200 Block of 3rd Street in Lewiston, Idaho is closed right now while LPD officers wait for the Spokane Bomb Squad to arrive.

A Normal Hill homeowner called police after he found a box of blasting caps in his shed.

Officers have closed the block off to traffic and alerted neighbors within 300 feet of the caps to stay in their homes or evacuate.

The Bomb Squad is expected to arrive between 2:00 and 2:30 this afternoon.

LPD Lt. Jeff Klone says if something like this happens to you, just leave the explosive where it is and call 911.

The Spokane Bomb Squad has been to Lewiston and Moscow several times in the last month for other reported explosive devices. Right now, it is not known if those instances are related to this one.

Because they are a federally-funded group, there is no reimbursement cost for calls to eastern Washington and northern Idaho.

This is a developing story. More information will be added when it becomes available.
