Spokane Boat Show wrapping up

Spokane Boat Show wrapping up

The Spokane Boat Show is wrapping up out at the Fairgrounds.

More than 50 dealers are there with boats and accessories for just about any budget.

What started as a small show for boating enthusiasts more than 60 years ago has turned into a massive expo that showcases so much more than just the latest and greatest in marine technology.

Both Spokane and Kootenai Counties gather to educate boaters on laws and regulations. There are fishing seminars and plenty of opportunities to win prizes and drawings.

Boat Show Manager Scott Thompson says the real beauty of this event is that its your chance to comparison shop without driving from dealer to dealer.

You can find the best bargain in a comfortable heated building.

Plus, this is the time of year when those dealers are looking to make something work for you.

“They are offering specials and discounts,” said Thompson. “The dealers discount them a little bit. This is a selling boat show. People come here to buy a boat. The dealers own these boats and they are here to sell them. It’s very competitive – they want your business.”

The show started on January 27, and runs through February 3 at the Spokane County Fairgrounds.
