Spirit Lake police arrest FedEx driver for DUI
SPIRIT LAKE, Idaho — Spirit Lake police arrested a FedEx delivery van driver Thursday evening for a DUI.
Officers received a report of a white van driving erratically westbound on Highway 54 towards Spirit Lake around 6:55 p.m. The report indicated that the vehicle entered Spirit Lake and parked at the Idaho Transportation Department Depot.
Officers located a FedEx delivery van at the depot, and contacted the driver, 41-year-old David Lenon of Athol, Idaho.
Lenon told officers that he was on his way back to his shop in Coeur d’Alene with several packages awaiting delivery. Officers could smell alcohol from inside the vehicle. Lenon was determined to not be able to safely and legally operate a motor vehicle, and was placed under arrest.
Lenon was transported to the Kootenai County Public Safety Building and booked on the charge of DUI without incident. His vehicle was impounded.
