SPD: Gun discharged during domestic violence incident, 1 arrested

SPOKANE, Wash. — A 48-year-old man was arrested Sunday night after a gun was fired during a domestic violence incident in northeast Spokane. 

Spokane Police did not identify the man in a release sent Monday morning, but said he possessed the firearm, which went off during an altercation with the victim. 

The victim was located and found safe. 

Police said the suspect was arrested for second-degree assault (domestic violence) and unlawful possession of a firearm, and added taht he is prohibited from possessing firearms due to his 16 prior felony convictions.
