Sound Off for November 5th: Should Hayden homeowner be forced to remove Christmas display?
HAYDEN, Idaho– — Last year the Morris family took Christmas decorating to new heights with a stellar light show, Santa and a camel at their Hayden, Idaho home. Thousands came by to see it.
This year, the West Hayden Estate Homeowners Association says, not so fast. It’s demanding Jeremy Morris take it all down. Morris says, “I’ll go to jail before I remove a single light bulb off my house.”
The display raises money for children with cancer and who are homeless, but the HOA says the whole event is a nuisance. Morris disagrees with that, saying his display does not violate any covenants or special permits from the county. He also claims the HOA says his display is forcing religion on others.
The event is scheduled to happen at the Morris home December 16th through the 20th from 6:00 to 8:00 nightly.
Who do you side with on this one? The Morris family or the HOA?
