Snow, ice, freezing rain create dangerous driving conditions around Inland Northwest
SPOKANE, Wash. — Drivers around the Inland Northwest faced dangerous driving conditions Tuesday evening following a batch of snow and freezing rain.
Spokane Police reported more than two dozen collisions in the Spokane area after 4 pm. They asked drivers to stay home and to avoid traveling if possible.
The City of Spokane went on Twitter to announce their game plan for clearing and de-icing roads.
Freezing rain has created slick conditions, and City Street crews are working overtime to improve conditions. Night crews are staying late, and day crews are coming in early to provide 24-hour coverage. Deicing and sanding. Slow down and drive for conditions. #SpokaneStreets
