Sixth veteran dies from COVID-19 at Spokane Veterans Home
SPOKANE, Wash. — The Spokane Veterans Home announced that another veteran residing there has passed away from COVID-19.
The Veterans Home says he was being treated at a local hospital before his passing.
This veteran is the sixth resident of the Veterans Home to die from the coronavirus, and according to the Department for Veterans Affairs, around 45 people had tested positive for the virus earlier in the week.
“It’s never easy to say goodbye to a Veteran or Family member in our Veterans Homes,” said Lourdes Alvarado-Ramos, director of the Washington State Department of Veterans Affairs. “Each Resident in our care brings their unique story, history and personality that make our Veterans Homes, a true Home. To the family and friends of each resident who passes, we offer our most sincere condolences.”
