Sign your child up for Kids Fishing Day on Clear Lake

SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash. — Kids in Spokane County can get an early start on learning how to fish with Kids Fishing Day at Clear Lake.

The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife teams up with businesses, organizations and volunteers from all over Washington to provide fishing opportunities for children ages 5 to 14.

Most of these events take place between April and June and each provides a day of fishing for a few dozen to several hundred kids and their families.

This year’s Kids Fishing Day on Clear Lake aims to get kids outside and reeling before the summer season.

Kids who participate will get a Kids Fishing t-shirt, a rod and reel of their own and a chance to catch a limit of three trout!

The event will be Saturday, May 7 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and you must register your child by Friday, April 22 — there are only 950 spots available.

You can also visit the WDFW office to register in person, located at 2315 N Discovery Place in Spokane Valley.

It costs $10 per child and checks are payable to Inland Northwest Wildlife Council.
