On May 4th around 7:00 p.m., Shoshone County deputies were conducting routine patrol in the City of Smelterville.

They noticed a gold Chevrolet Blazer, with Kootenai county license plates, parked on private property and in an area where recent thefts had occurred.

Deputies approached the occupants of the vehicle and soon after brought out their controlled substance detection dog, Deputy Lulu, to conduct a free air sniff around the vehicle.

Lulu alerted the deputies to something in the vehicle, and after further investigation, the driver, 24-year-old Christopher C. Vergobbi was arrested.

He was charged with Possession with Intent to Deliver Cocaine (felony), Possession of Marijuana (misdemeanor) and Possession of Paraphernalia (misdemeanor).
