Shooting leaves one person dead in East Central neighborhood
Police: Not a random incident
SPOKANE, Wash. — One person was killed Saturday night in a shooting in Spokane’s East Central neighborhood.
Spokane Police responded to the 3100 block of E. 8th Ave. just before 7:30 p.m. and located a dead body at the scene. One person of interest was detained and the investigation is ongoing.
Initial information received by police is that the dead adult and the person of interest knew each other and this was not a random incident. Police believe there is no continued threat to the public.
The Spokane County Medical Examiner will release the identity and manner of death at the end of their investigation.
