Shining Star Senior Night: honoring Axtell, Stubbs, and Furey

SPOKANE, Wash. — The Senior class of 2020 is missing out on making big memories in their last few weeks in high school, one of those things is missing out on Spring sports.  We are honoring those Senior student-athletes who put in so much work through the years by giving them their Senior Night moment.

Lauren Stubbs, St. John-Endicott-LaCrosse, Track

Lauren was nominated by her track coach who says she is a hard-working leader of the program.  She has metaled in the pole vault two years in a row and was looking to improve on her placing this season.

Brandon Furey, Lakeland, Track

Lakeland Senior Brandon Furey is a three sport athlete who is missing his last track season.  He was the team offensive MVP in football as their quarterback, and had a blast playing basketball this year.  He is heading to Southern Virginia University to continue his education and football career next year.

Victoria Axtell, Central Valley, Track

Victoria is a pole vaulter for the Bears, but that’s just the beginning.  She is also a cheerleader, and a very accomplished gymnast.  After the state Gymnastics championship she was selected as one of just eight gymnasts to compete in the Senior National High School competition in Florida.  However that event had to be canceled.  Victoria is a 3.8 student and is an officer in the school’s DECA program.

Congrats to everyone in the class of 2020 for outstanding careers.
