Shining Star Senior Night: Bridgeport’s Irene Jimenez

SPOKANE, Wash. — When sports were put on pause, it made many of us realize just how much we learn, grow and create our identity around them. For high school seniors, their last season of sports was not just put on pause, but canceled entirely.

Tonight, we’re giving a Shining Star Senior Night to Bridgeport’s Irene Jimenez, who was nominated by her coach.

Irene Jimenez: A softball captain this year, Jimenez was also a cheer captain for the last three years. In softball, she’s played all throughout high school as a pitcher and infielder for the Fillies. When it comes to school, she’s a salutatorian with a 3.8 GPA, an honor society and FFA member. Her coach Samantha Torres who has enjoyed coaching her every year.
