SPOKANE, Wash. — A celebration of China’s rich cultural heritage will be coming back to Spokane next year.

Shen Yun will be performing in Spokane in April 2023 at the First Interstate Center for the Arts. Shen Yun is a dance company that celebrates China’s cultural heritage, bringing 5,000 years of civilization to life on stage.

Each performance has 20 pieces in it, moving from one legend, region or dynasty to the next. The themes of the performances range from Tang court ladies to valiant generals, from timeless works of Lao-Tzu to scenes of magical realms.

Some pieces will also touch on current topics in China, shedding light on the oppression many people face for their spiritual beliefs, such as Falun Dafa.

Tickets range from $80-$150. They go on sale to the general public on October 18 at 10 a.m.
