Seven injured in a crash south of Ephrata
MOSES LAKE, Wash. — Seven people were injured in a car crash on Monday 15 miles south of Ephrata.
The Grant County Sheriff’s Office said Carmelinda Trejo Munoz drove her 2014 Honda Civic past a stop sign on South Frontage Road West and crashed into Maria G. Campos Nunez, who was driving a Honda Accord on Dodson Road.
Trejo Munoz was transported to Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee. Campos Nunez, as well as the other passengers in both cars, were taken to hospitals, as well.
In Trejo Munoz’s car, Esmeralda G. Magana Barragan was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. Adriana Flores Figuerona, Maria G. Rodriguez Cosme and Karina Sanchez Ortiz were taken to Samaritan Healthcare in Moses Lake.
Campos Nunez and Brian Bernal Campos were both transported to Quincy Valley Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The GCSO said the cause of the crash was Trejo Munoz’s failure to stop at the stop sign. The crash is currently under investigation by the Grant County Sheriff’s Office Motor Traffic Unit.
