Meantime, several healthcare workers involved in the patients’ care have been put into quarantine as a precaution.

The GCHD said quarantining healthy individuals who are exposed to a contagious disease is standard protocol used to prevent the spread of disease and follows the CDC’s guidance for COVID-19 prevention.

These healthcare workers are being quarantined at their homes and are avoiding contact with people outside of their immediate families for two weeks.

“We’d like to thank the affected healthcare workers and Samaritan Hospital for helping keep our community safe while we wait for these results,” said Grant County Health Officer, Dr. Alexander Brzezny.
