Second Harvest offers kids cooking classes during spring break
SPOKANE, Wash. — The Kitchen at Second Harvest will hold spring break cooking classes for kids, starting Monday.
During the classes, which run from April 2 through April 5, kids will learn how to cook different recipes, knife skills, kitchen safety, and cleanliness.
Kids will be able to eat what they make and take home recipes for their creations.
The spring break classes offer a chance to kids to cook food from around the world in four days.
Take a Bite From Brazil! Come prepared to get your hands in the “massa” (dough) as we learn how to prepare some authentic Brazilian snacks.
Taco Tuesday! Get excited to have a “Mexican fiesta” (party)! Learn how to make traditional Mexican foods including tacos!
Get Curried Away! Take your taste buds on a trip to India by learning how to make some traditional and delicious Indian dishes. Don’t worry! Curry does not have to be super spicy, just tasty.
Say Marhabah (hi) to the Middle East! Learn how to make traditional Middle Eastern foods like falafel, baba ghanoush, and tabbouleh.
Classes run from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., and are available for children aged 8-12. Cost is $100. You can register online here.
