Seattle mayor ends re-election bid after sexual abuse claims

Seattle Mayor Ed Murray has abandoned his re-election campaign for a second term after four men claimed he sexually abused them when they were teenagers.

Murray reiterated his past denials the claims on Tuesday but said he decided it was best for Seattle for him to drop out.

Murray is a Democrat and had pushed ahead with his campaign for weeks following the allegations.

The men claim Murray abused them in the 1980s and one has filed a lawsuit against Murray.
