Search for new SFCC president yields two finalists
SPOKANE, Wash. — The Spokane Falls Community College President Screening Committee has named two finalists in the search for a new SFCC president.
The first candidate, Darrell Cain, is a vice chancellor for student success at the Ivy Tech Community College-Central Indiana region.
The second candidate, Barbara Hanson, was the former CEO and chancellor of Louisiana Delta Community College. Hanson is also a finalist in the search for a Spokane Community College president.
Both candidates will take part in a full day of interviews and presentations at SFCC. The community is invited to take part in the public forums.
Acting SFCC president Nancy Szofran hopes to name a permanent president before the end of the academic year so the new president can begin their position by July 1, 2018.
Darrell Cain’s forum will take place on Wednesday, April 25, from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m., in Building 24, Room 110.
Barbara Hanson’s forum will take place on Friday, April 27, from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m., in Building 24, Room 110.
In addition to the forums, the candidates will participate in a series of separate meetings with campus and district leadership.
SFCC is located at 3410 W. Fort George Wright Drive.
