Summer is not officially over, but it’s already time to start thinking about waxing those skis.

Schweitzer Mountain Resort announced Tuesday it will open for the 2019-2020 season on November 29.

Season passes and lesson packages are already on sale. Sign up now through October 31 for a discounted price before late season fares begin.

Schweitzer is currently in the middle of a handful of expansion projects, some of which will be completed soon.

Marketing Manager Dig Chrismer said good weather over the summer has kept construction crews on target and two new lifts will be up and running this winter.

Snow Ghost was removed and is being replaced by the Cedar Park Express detachable quad and the Colburn fixed grip triple.

Though it will be not be complete this season, Schweitzer also recently announced the ground-breaking of a new ski-in, ski-out hotel. The project began in July and crews are currently finishing up the first phase of the underground parking foundations. The actual construction of the hotel will begin next summer with the project slated for completion by Fall of 2020.
