Sandpoint Named Most Beautiful Small Town in America
Rand McNally in collaboration with USA Today named Sandpoint, Idaho the most beautiful small town in America. Three weeks ago, a duo-team, The McNavigators, Daniel and JoAnne Schaub, stopped in six cities across the country including: Baker City, Ore., Coral Gables, Fla., Franklin, Tenn., Marco Island, Fla. and Pacifica, Calif. They didn’t know much about Idaho at first. As far as they knew, there were a lot of potatoes. Their stop to Sandpoint won them over with Schweitzer Mountain, Lake Pend Oreille, downtown shopping and restaurants.
The announcement came at the Destination Marketing Association International’s Annual Convention on Thursday, July 21st in New Orleans, Louisiana. The Greater Sandpoint Chamber of Commerce expressed their thanks to the Shaubs in a press release this afternoon calling Sandpoint a “true destination unlike anywhere else.”
Friendliest Small Town in America: Walla Walla was another winner from the region visited by Team Gone with the Wynns.
