Ronald McDonald House in need of donations ahead of opening new location

SPOKANE, Wash. — Families with children in the hospital will soon have a brand new place to call home.

The Ronald McDonald House is expanding its campus in Spokane and is set to open its new facility in about a month and a half.

It took 10 years to find the new location and a few more to design it.

The space is right across the street from the original house, but it is nearly twice the size. That means it can provide a space for more families than ever before.

“I just think that once they walk into this building that they will feel calm and they’ll feel supported, and that’s really what we want to do – is make those families feel like they are well taken care of” said Project Director Kathie Vlahovich.

Before the house can become a home, it still needs cups, plates, pots and pans. If you feel moved to donate, you can find more info here.
