A man, woman and a dog died after their vehicle plunged off a sharp turn and into Arrowrock Reservoir where it ended up on its roof in 30 feet of water.
Witnesses reported the crash at 11:30 a.m. Saturday but responders couldn’t locate the vehicle until a dive team with sonar arrived and found it at about noon on Sunday.
Authorities say the bodies of the man and woman and dog were recovered. Names have not been released.
Boise County Chief Deputy Dale Rogers says speed appears to be a factor in the crash.
Rogers says witnesses jumped on the bumper of the vehicle as it was sinking and beat on the windows but didn’t get a response, and their efforts failed.
