BONNER CO., Idaho — Bonner County Search and Rescue members found three hikers on Saturday who had become lost while hiking near Scotchman’s Peak.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, two hikers called 911 Saturday afternoon to report their friend had gotten lost.

She had decided to head back to the car early, they said. It wasn’t until later that afternoon when they received distressed messages from their friend, saying she was lost. Poor service had delayed the messages from getting through sooner.

Search and rescue teams were deployed to the area.

The hiker was eventually found in a drainage area with two other hikers who had also gotten lost.

The Bonner County Sheriff’s Office want to thank all volunteers who participated in returning the hikers to safety.
